FOGET Ambassadors Champion Purpose-Driven Leadership as Entrance University of Health Sciences Wins 2026 Inter-University Debate Championship
Entrance University of Health Sciences (EUHS) has been crowned champions of the 2026 FOGET Inter-University Debate Championship, following an outstanding performance in the Grand Finale against Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST).
FOGET Inter-University Debate Championship was Organised by the Foundation for Generational Thinkers (FOGET), on Saturday August 1, 2026 at Golden Escape Hotel, Dansoman, Accra – Ghana. The championship brought together FOGET Ambassadors from eight universities across Ghana to debate pressing national issues while promoting leadership, critical thinking, and purpose-driven engagement among young people.
The competition featured representatives from Accra Technical University (ATU), University of Ghana (UG), University of Cape Coast (UCC), University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA), University of Mines and Technology (UMaT), University of Health and Allied Sciences (UHAS), Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), and Entrance University of Health Sciences (EUHS).
KNUST earned its place in the Grand Finale after defeating UCC in the quarter-finals and ATU in the semi-finals. EUHS secured its final berth by overcoming UMaT in the quarter-finals and UHAS in the semi-finals, setting the stage for an exciting championship contest.
The finalists EUHS and KNUST debated the motion, ” Everything in Ghana Rises and Falls on Leadership ,” delivering thoughtful arguments, compelling rebuttals, and insightful perspectives on one of Ghana’s most significant national conversations. At the end of a closely contested debate, the judges declared Entrance University of Health Sciences the overall winner of the 2026 championship.
The debate was moderated by Mr. Prosper Dan Afetsi, President of FOGET, while the panel of judges comprised Dr. Aaron Adjei, Senior Lecturer at Central University; Daniel Bonsu-Afriyie, experienced educator and youth mentor; and Agbemabiese Bennett Yao, Educational Psychologist and transformational educator.
Following the Debate, Victoria Osei Prempeh, Head of Public Relations at Entrance University of Health Sciences, delivered an inspiring address on “Leadership and National Transformation ,” encouraging young people to embrace purpose-driven leadership and become agents of positive change in their communities and the nation.
The event was graced by Rev. Gilbert Entsie, Board Chairman of FOGET, whose presence reaffirmed the Foundation’s commitment to investing in young leaders across Ghana’s tertiary institutions.
Speaking after the championship, Mr. Prosper Dan Afetsi reiterated FOGET’s vision of developing transformational leaders through practical platforms that challenge young people to think critically, communicate effectively, and lead with integrity.
The FOGET Inter-University Debate Championship forms part of the Foundation’s broader mission of equipping university students with the leadership, communication, and analytical skills required to contribute meaningfully to national development. Through its network of FOGET Ambassadors, the Foundation continues to create opportunities that inspire young people to discover purpose, develop their potential, and become leaders of lasting influence.
